Favorite foreign films country

For myself, i love old french (60's nouvelle-vague), italian films (50's neo-realism)and russian cinema (70's and 80's) but right now i think german cinema is very cool. So what's yours (can not vote for your own country) ?

There are others countries and times of course, but HK during this period was special. The Thais & Koreans are making some good movies right now and Japan has been making interesting/cool films since forever.

In Japan you've got the old guards like Miike still surprising you every now and then and newer film makers doing genuinely fun and intersting stuff (Survive Style 5+ and Lily Chou Chou spring to mind). And South Korea just seems unstopable, it even made my favourite film of 06 Welcome to Dongmakgol.

I enjoy the odd French film now and then (such as Amélie and Belleville Rendez-Vous), and also some Spanish/Mexican ones. :)
